When I saw the story about he Balch family from my hometown of Gatesville I was heartbroken. I can’t imagine what the wife is going through dealing with grieving the loss of her youngest son, the severe injuries of her other son and the critical injuries her husband sustained while rescuing his sons from the fire.
The pain they are going through is unimaginable and my thoughts and prayers go out to this family, although I have never met them. …Go check out the rest of the story…
Ok.. so Thursday night I decided on a whim to go see Pauly Shore at the Houston Improv. Yes I know it was Pauly Shore, save the ribbing for another time.
I grew up watching the guy and loved all of his movies, except Bio-Dome probably because of Stephen Baldwin being in it. I can remember watching Encino Man at least 30-40 times along with Son-in-Law. I think everyone my age ran around saying “Weezing the Juices Buddy….” and did that odd hand movement that he did.. …Go check out the rest of the story…
Ok.. so some, most, maybe none of you know we are having a boy this September. We’re excited, shocked, scared, nervous all rolled into one.
I took us 12 years to have kids and in just over 4 years we’ll have 3 kids! God has an amazing sense of humor!
Our younger kiddos are both girls. Madison is 4 and Macee turns 3 in October. So when we got the news baby #3 was a boy we were in SHOCK!

I have to admit I’ve never been good at the calendar thing. I rarely look at one, rarely know what the date is and etc.
My wife has always kept a “family calendar”, though I never remember to look at it.. I’ve tried paper calendars, wall calendars, desk calendars, calendars on my computer on my phone and etc. But, rarely remember to check them.
That’s the thing about calendars. Just creating them or writing something on a date doesn’t do anything. It’s the referring back to it that is key.
So I’m sitting here today and had a conversation with some buddies via Facebook about some various activities that I deem pointless and figured I’d just share them in a blog..

Ok.. So I got off track and off the wagon, or is it on?, when it comes to the 31 Days to Build a Better Blog experience I was doing with the bloggers at Ourchurch.com. Life got in they way, blah, blah blah..
Today’s assignment was to write a review post. I was going to review a recent book I’ve read (yes I do read now..) But instead decided to review Wrigley’s Extra chewing gum.
Ok.. Evidently I have a foot theme going on this week in my blog posts..

The other day I’m in our local Snap Fitness gym doing my morning workout. (I’m on a quest to lose 75lbs this year.. I’m 20 lbs in.. I better get cracking!). So I’m there doing my lat workout and look over and this old dude is on one of the stationary bikes with no shoes on!! Really?
Ok.. So I have long been someone that just speaks what’s on his mind instead of thinking first. Usually something comes out and it’s only then that I realize that it sounded dumb or worse, hurtful.
The other day we were all in Kroger grabbing some stuff for my poker night with some buddies from Thrive Church. I’m in line and see a guy in front of me that looked familar. He nodded at me and I nodded at him.
So today’s assignment on our 31 Days to Build a Better Blog with Ourchurch.com is to Join a Forum and start participating.
I’ve had a real hard time with this. There are so many forums that I don’t know which ones are useful and which ones aren’t.
My main business is car shipping so it would make sense for me to join some car forums, but they are all so hard to navigate and full of alot of technical information and questions about cars. I’m not a gearhead so I’m lost in those conversations.
So I missed Monday and Tuesday of my 31 Days to Build a Better Blog challenge I’m doing with OurChurch.com. We jetted out of town Sunday evening so Lisa could see her mom and so I could go see my dad. Felt like I needed to see him this week. You can read more HERE.
Today’s lesson is about interlinking your old blog posts with your current post. It’s a tactic that is pretty elementary when it comes to SEO. The more your pages are linking to one another the better. Plus it makes your blog or website flow better.
